FAQs

How do I start?

The best way is to give me a call or send me an email. I can answer any questions you may have and if you want to proceed we can discuss whether you would be best suited to private classes or join a class.

What should I wear to a Pilates class?

You don’t need the latest gear. Comfortable, fitting workout clothes that allow you to move  freely such as t-short, shorts, leggings or tracksuit is all you need. There is a lot of mat work and many male clients find either lined shorts or wearing cycle/compression shorts under normal shorts most comfortable.

Do I need to wear socks?

We do not wear trainers in Pilates but, ideally, socks are worn.

Do I need to bring my own mat/equipment?

All you need to bring is a yoga mat and water bottle.

What if I have an injury?

Pilates can help you recover from a range of injuries and conditions. The key focus is stabalising core muscles which improves posture, releives back pain, increase flexibility and reduce muscle injuries. Please discuss any injuries with me prior to class.

How often should I do Pilates?

Twice a week is recommended but even one class a week is better than none and you can always practice at home.
